New Logo Design for Simple Touch
This project was challenging. I needed to come up with an image/logo that represented both massage and organizing. The job became easy when I hired her to organize my office. Once my office was cleared out and organized I felt as light as a feather. I started brainstorming images that gave the impression you were floating away. With massage and organization you can feel this way. A few things came to mind but what stuck was the image of a dandelion floating away. With that in mind I went to work with some ideas. These were my initial ideas. #1 using a dandelion that went to seed in the background with the words over. #2 I was visually describing chaos and calm with the scribble and light faded circle. #3 The fluid S was to show tension floating away. #4 My favorite idea, 3 graphic dandelions floating in the wind. And #5 was a variation on #3.

Final Logo Design
The final logo for my client. We decided on a nice metallic copper ink for the bird. I've provided my client with this sheet explaining the color usage and the file types they will receive. They will also get a 2 hour in office training session on logo file types and logo usage. The idea for this logo sheet is from a fellow artist and designer Von Glitchka. Pictures to come of the brochure and business card design.

More Designs found while spring cleaning
These are some embroidery sample ideas I did when I worked for Brooks Inc. I worked there for a year in the early 90's. I got to travel to Taiwan and over see the manufacturing of the shoes. It was quite an experience. One of the best parts of the job was I got to go running at lunch. I'm a runner so that was a bonus. Most people who worked there were runners. Oh those were the days when I had so much time on my hands. I was married without kids. Wow, you never realize how much time you have when you don't have kids!! I wouldn't trade them for anything though!!

Good Designs that were never used : (
As a designer you always create designs that you love but your customer may not. It's ok, and we still love our clients, however they never see the light of day. So here is me, showing off some designs I really liked that didn't go anywhere. I ran across these designs while I was updating the approved file with this years date on it.

There is something powerful about telling someone "you are amazing". I learned that at a workshop from Julie Hutton. You can find her at JulieHuttoncoaching.com. She is also a fellow Biznik member who I have come to admire. I've just sent her this graphic. I hope she likes it!

This is my most current project. Logo design for Nectar Day Spa. I believe we have reached an agreement for the logo. We are still working on the color but are almost there. The brochure and business papers will be printed on a nice recycled paper stock. I planning to help my client work on more promotional items.
I'm meeting with another client tomorrow. It will be a very challenging logo design for a company who produces online forms for school districts all over the United States. My creative juices need some inspiration!! Not sure where I will find inspiration for this project!!

The Creative License by Danny Gregory
This is a contour drawing concept from Dan Gregory's Book. Your suppose to look at an image and draw it without looking down on your paper. This is of my teenage daughter. She wasn't thrilled with it. It is a great exercise, try it. Check out this artists site: www.dannygregory.com.

This is a flyer and poster I just designed for Business and Professional Women's Foundation, www.bpwusa.org. It is an interesting study on how an image/photo can have a huge impact on an advertisement. The first version below had an image that addressed only a certain demographic. The customer needed an image that would include a more diverse population. The image above is much more appropriate for the demographic. My customer is very happy with my work and I believe it will draw a large group to this event. The event is sponsored by Chat with Women that can be found at www.chatwithwomen.com.

Art is not what you see,
but what you make others see.
-Edgar Degas
Design is my passion! Creating images that distinguish your product or service is my goal. A designer's job is to communicate, educate, inform, promote, entertain, and motivate through distinctive images and text.
A good designer must solve problems, communicate, visualize, manage, represent, and research your project. For the past 12 years I have developed the skills to achieve these tasks as an effective designer. When hiring Prosimian Design you will receive very personal attention and designs that are effective and affordable.
This is my new blog, which will be updated monthly. Please look through my work. More designs will be added as I sort through my boxes and disks. Please continue to visit my website at www.prosimiandesign.com, but check back here for more frequent updates.
